wireless and wire
Wireless or Wire router.....Which is faster on a highspeed interenet connection or data transfer on a network....

Wireless is more than enough, even if you have only 802.11b 11 Mbps(how fast is your Internet connection, 1 Mbps?). But you can have up to 54 Mbps.
The main problem of a wireless network is that it works ok if access point and wireless nic are in straight line (you can view one from the other position). If there are walls in between the signal degrades very quickly. At home I have a wireless network using Bluetooth class 1 devices (up to 100 m) and it works fine to surf the Internet (Bluetooth has less than 1 Mbps, but my DSL is 256/128 Kbs, so no problem). However copying files is slow... |

My DSL is 128kb. I'll try the wireless. I'm not looking for the convenience of using a laptop yet but the speed is all I want for now. Thanks buddies
