greffov will become famous soon enough
uhm... somewhere in the control panel, look for network. Then install the network stuff, like TCP/IP, Microsoft networks client and services. After a reboot (of course) it should appear in the desktop.

I had this happen to me once, many moons ago... discovered my network card wasn't detected properly (due to it being a bit unseated - eek!!) and in spite of adding protocols and such, the icon just never appeared.

So, I suggest you test your NIC is properly installed first.

Cirga is on a distinguished road
Funny how Windows 98 is becoming so ancient that its hard to remember how to get to things eh? I am having the same problem drakin.. well not exactly the same problem.. but forgetting things about win98 is becoming rather easy now. lol

Even though I run a win98 box at my house.. I just dont do enough on it to keep perfectly proficient with it anymore.
