no clue
Forgive me if this is a really dumb question. I have not messed with win 98 in so long I have NO CLUE. I don't remember how to get the network neighborhood on the desktop. I just did a fresh install on an old Pc this is all it will handle. Lol I have forgoten how to get it up there. Please help me I am about to go insane.

uhm... somewhere in the control panel, look for network. Then install the network stuff, like TCP/IP, Microsoft networks client and services. After a reboot (of course) it should appear in the desktop.

I had this happen to me once, many moons ago... discovered my network card wasn't detected properly (due to it being a bit unseated - eek!!) and in spite of adding protocols and such, the icon just never appeared.
So, I suggest you test your NIC is properly installed first.

Funny how Windows 98 is becoming so ancient that its hard to remember how to get to things eh? I am having the same problem drakin.. well not exactly the same problem.. but forgetting things about win98 is becoming rather easy now. lol
Even though I run a win98 box at my house.. I just dont do enough on it to keep perfectly proficient with it anymore.
