Island Sinks at Boxoffice

I would've never guessed that The Island would tank as bad as it did. Were we not all under the impression that this movie has positive critical and fan buzz - at least everywhere I looked. Sure, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie only scored a 42% - but $12.1 million?! Look at a movie like The Longest Yard, which only scored 30% - and it has still managed to rake in more than $150 million. Maybe if The Island had starred Adam Sandler...

After a couple of "up" weekends at the box office, this weekend saw a big drop, with none of the weekend's new releases managing to disrupt last weekend's top three films.
