Question Motherboard Performance?

Hello,

I am asking a question relating to performance. I previously had a Biostar M7NCD motherboard with a AMD Athlon 2100+, and over 700MB's of PC2700 memory. I just built a new system, Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939 motherboard, AMD Athlon 3000+ 64 Bit, and over 1535MB's of PC3200 memory. The BIOS is running the chip at 1800MHz, correct speed and FSB. When I run a benchmark of the system chip and memory it comes in well above my previous system. It seems to me not to be much faster if not faster at all. I thought the move from the nForce 2 to 3 chipset, faster CPU (3000+, 64 Bit chip), and move to PC3200 from PC2700 would all mean better performance? I should mention I am running the same IDE, ATA drives, I did not want to go with SATA just yet (the board supports SATA). I would appreciate anyones input.

Thank you,

Peter

I am using the tests that come with the program Everest. It is telling that my new system is much faster but again, it is hard to really see it. I also ran the CPU-Z program and uploaded the results.

Thank you,

Peter

Well - as for CPU speed test, you wouldn't gain that much. You can see the similar results - the differences aren't that high. As long as you're in your system class, it's OK :-)
