so yea, i hate this
i have an ASUS K8V SE Deluxe mobo and one day after a restart it began saying "System Failed due to CPU overclocking" and i cant get it to do anything now. It doesn't start up at all, it powers up and then after about 10 seconds it says this death phrase. I have switched things around on the mobo(memory slots, pulled the battery from the it, cleaned the heck out of it) but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? |

This is a problem of this mobo you have there
. I've seen a couple of these. Asus tells nothing about such problem but there is. First what is your CPU and your PCB(and the BIOS version). See the ASUS support list: CPU Since PCB Since BIOS Athlon 64 3200+ (Socket754) ALL 1003 Athlon 64 3000+ (Socket754) ALL ALL Athlon 64 3400+ (Socket754) ALL ALL Athlon 64 2800+ (Socket754) ALL 1003 Athlon 64 3700+ (Socket754) ALL 1003 Sempron 3100+ (CG version) (Socket754) ALL 1004 Sempron 3100+ (D0 version) (Socket754) ALL 1005 Second: Try to move the RAM chips around the slots (first chip into second slot, etc). Third: Could be the PSU... what is it? If the 24 pin isn't high enough (20 A from whatI've read somewhere) it may show errors And fourth: Yeah this board has problems and ASUS still doesn't admit it has. Probably you should write to them asking for a new mobo BIOS chip (they send sometimes). Dunno what else to offer Good luck p.s. And Welcome to PCTechTalk |

ohw, and please try the special bios reset jumper! I think that's the way to reset your bios into default unclocked state... At least I hope that works for you.

I am getting this same message. Only I am getting it after installing my second 512 memory stick. I know the stick is not faulty because I have taken the old one out and put in this one only and the computer boots up just fine.
I tried going into the bios and changing the following settings: DDR Frequency: 400mhz (as a pose to auto) Disable Speech thing DDR Voltage 2.6v This is the computer I just purchased that i am having the problem with, it is an asus motherboard, I am not exactly sure what model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883102612 This is the RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145420 I have emailed newegg, as I have purchased both items from them and have had them less than a week. I am awaiting their response. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |
