MotherBoard Seeking and the value of pci express

I'm looking around for a mother board that supports 4 port raid SATA, without pci-xpress or ddr2. All help appreciated.

I found this board, but it has PCI-Xpress

For the money, should I go ahead and get pci-express?

Also, where do you want to have a four channel raid for? RAID-5?

no RAID-5 included. I'd be surprised if it wre anyway. What you get is no more than 4 connectors, the actual RAID is done using a windows port of the Linux software RAID drivers (md). So no hardware RAID, no fun, no real RAID.

This looks good. It is rather expensive though, as are the new parts too. :/

What the hack are you going to use it for anyway? It looks like it'll become a hell of a machine!
250 * 3 = 750 GB is not just a little storage dude, lol.

I don't know what your intended use is, but perhaps just a 3ware/adaptec RAID-5 card can save you some money.
