MotherBoard Seeking and the value of pci express
I'm looking around for a mother board that supports 4 port raid SATA, without pci-xpress or ddr2. All help appreciated.
I found this board, but it has PCI-Xpress ![]() For the money, should I go ahead and get pci-express? |

no RAID-5 included. I'd be surprised if it wre anyway. What you get is no more than 4 connectors, the actual RAID is done using a windows port of the Linux software RAID drivers (md). So no hardware RAID, no fun, no real RAID. |

What the hack are you going to use it for anyway? It looks like it'll become a hell of a machine!
250 * 3 = 750 GB is not just a little storage dude, lol. I don't know what your intended use is, but perhaps just a 3ware/adaptec RAID-5 card can save you some money. |
