Hiya dwood

this is what I got from the abit site for memory specs on that particular mainboard
Quote:
Memory
- Four 184-pin DIMM sockets
- Supports 4 DIMM Single/Dual Channel DDR 400 memory
- Supports 4 DIMM DDR400 up to 4GB
I'd say based on that it supports both, but it couldn't hurt to shoot off an email to the people at abit about it

Check out the forums over there as well and do a search for "single stick memory is7e". From what I've read it can be done.

Here's a link to the specs: Clickety-click

Hope this helps

No problem to run it in single channel. Anyway dual channel improves very little (usually less than 1%), because of the limited speed of the FSB. You benefit from dual channel when you have integrated video controler that makes use of system ram as video memory.
