Time to Bat down the hatches and upgrade.

Ok I am getting ready to upgrade again.. I just cant seem to decide which Motherboard I want... I swear by Asus .. because I have never had a problem with them out of all teh motherboards I have "cracked" etc.. asus was never one of them. Luck maybe?

But I am either going with an AMD XP chip.. or an Intel pentium 4 2.53 Ghz chip.. really depends on what motherboard I can match up to one of them taht I really like.

Any suggestions folks?

AMD AthlonXP Barton 2500+ on Newegg.com is $138 with free shipping.
The ASUS A7N8X Deluxe is $135.00.

There, that solves your delima.

I have been doing some research and by using that combo, combined with a topnotch HSF you should be able to overclock that puppy a significant amount..without even breathing hard.

I am getting that combo this week (while it is still on sale) and putting it in the machine I am building for my Pharmacy Tech.
I will let you all know just how it works out.... lets see, how Hi can I go....???

One of my favorite sites for purchasing is: ProNetSale.com
(http://www.pronetsale.com/)

I have built many a PC using their configurators (they will actually put them together and do a 24-hour burn-in as well). And...better yet, they just added a MOTHERBOARD KIT CONFIGURATOR, where you can put together your Mobo/CPU/box and any fans:

AMD XP+ Config

Intel P4 Config

It's reasonable...and they rock on service!

Wow...I'm surprised.
I've built several PCs via these guys and have yet to have any problems...

Please also note...this is from only 6 (six) reviews -- as compared to say Crucial (http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2102.html) who had 718 reviews.

Usually the folks who do these reviews are the guys that had bad experiences.

Well its true they only have 6 reviews but 5 are bad and the other is a don't know.

also they are seller # 2374 so have been on RR for over a yearand not every one goes on there to complain and bitch.

This is what would worry me the most though.

These people have multiple sites that are used to flood price "scanning" websites with only their stores.

pronetsale.com also goes by the name:

acicomputerstore.com
actonlinestore.com
americancomputech.com
newgenpc.com
acompinc.com
avapc.com
mgepc.com
pcsourceonline.com
