i would say unless you can pick up a second hand board on ebay you will need to bite two bulits, one for DDR and another for a new cpu![]()
Intel (Fedora) motherboard Pentium III - 733-MHz [Part #2511419]. i need to replace this mobo. it maxes out at 512 sdram. i have lots ot extra sdram and would like to stay with this mobo as it would cost alot to replace the ram. any good suggestions on motherboard that would suit my needs or do i have to bite the bullit and change to ddr?

Well...u do have a few options...
Heres a nice gigabyte one. That takes up to 1.5 gig of SD ram and u can buy it if ur in the uk here for a pretty decent price.
Otherwise its best to look around as some boards do support both SD and DDR tho they r few and far between.
As rip said most are DDR now and it maybe time to take the plunge!

i'm looking for mobo and cpu to replace intel(fedora) pentium 3 733 mhz 370 socket motherboard. i was trying to stick with my sdram but i give up on that. i'd like to get something i can grow with. i have 512mb of sdram and 512mb of pc 3200 ddr ram also so i can go either way. everything else is ok for now with the system and i could upgrade the rest later if need be. i'm maxed out at 512 ram with this mobo. this is a second pc and i'm trying to move up a little at a time without doing a whole new build. i just don't have any idea what to get. don't know that much about them. i do know i need mobo and cpu
If you want something upgradable better go with an Athlon 64 mobo. Something with nForce4 probably. It supports DDR400 (PC3200) DDR, but you may need to change you videocard too as PCI Express is the new video card standard. Anyways a decent PCI ex video is cheaper than its AGP analogue (new technologies).
As for the mobo brand - ABIT, DFI, EPoX, MSI, ASUS in the such put order are amongst my favourites.
Hope this helps a bit.
Good luck
