Help with vanishing mouse!

I have been doing all kinds of searches online to try and find the answer but so far no luck.

I just got my lovely new gaming system home a TuxBox FullMetalJacket. Its a beast of a machine and I love it. BUT the microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse were not windows vista compatible thus a possible cause for my mouse that vanishes when a game starts up and goes to full screen mode. So far both Gothic III and City of Heros have done the same thing and I KNOW I need to be able to see my mouse for both games having played them on my notebook.

So I have a new system running windows vista with a wireless mouse and keyboard. Does anyone have any idea how I keep my mouse from hiding when I begin to play a game?

If you need more specific info on my system just let me know in the mean time I will get back to trouble shooting myself.
