Ports
Im having some trouble with my computer just in the past month this has happen an Im not sure how to go about fixing it. I host games on port 3000 to 3005 most of the time however I cant now because for some reason the system has takin it upon itself to listen on the ports so now It wont let me host so does anyone have any ideas?
No I dont have a firewall yes im on a router no the router is not the issue with the hosting the issue is windows itself is using ports to listen for nothing at all an its annoying me now. After a netstat /a I found three TCP's active on ports 3001 to 3003 however the foreign address is port 0 an its just listening I thought it might be a virus so I looked into what was hosting it an its localhost thats using the ports 127.0.0.1 just to listen not to send anything etc. So my question is how do I fix this? Windows xp sp1 no firewall running a corporate copy of norton however that isnt effecting my ports I can already tell you that I attempted to find where the ports were being used an there is no active connection to the ports its just like a system loop or something. |

I have been looking into it a bit more the port 3001 was being used by alg.exe an ports 3002 an 3003 are being used by svchost.exe also port 123 is on listen in the same file an I thought that was a bit odd however iv still been unable to find much on anything.
