2 questions on windows

1. what other methods are there do format you harddrive other than using the windows xp disk.

2. i have downloaded an unattended version of windows xp called tiny xp (it is legal) when i got it it was made up of a text file and an nfo and an .exe file.

I need to make a bootable disk from the exe so i can instal tiny xp to a newly formated harddrive (which links to my first question) im pretty newbish at this so im not sure how i would do it any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Hi ABOU :-)
1. You can use a Windows 98 boot floppy disk - and use the fdisk utility from it..however it's only command prompt and I'm not sure if I would recommend it to newbies...Other ways - Linux bootable CDs (most distros do the job) have fdisk and cfdisk utilities. Both work as command prompt again. You can also search for Hiren's Boot CD - it has lots of tools including partition managers I think.

2. Not sure about this TinyXP (Google returns results as a handheld XP). But Nero should alow you to make Bootable disk. Nero Burning Rom has Bootable CD as an option instead of the default Data CD (ISO).

Cheers man its been a while eh.

Im not a complete noob when it comes to operating systems i was told how to do a format in doss once i just cant remember the commands gues i could llok it up.

as for tiny XP i duno why it says handheld in google i have some links for some more info but the nero idea mite work cheers man

Found out how to do it man

just for refrence if anyone else needs to install something like this.

Basically the .exe file needs to be urared and then it will expose another rar file containing all the information which can then be burnt on to a standard data disk which will work fine
