I run XP on all three of our computers. I have no Idea why but on my laptop I had a similar problem. It doesnt do it on any other machines but the lap top. Sorry but I never did fix it and it still does it. I tried driver updates, windows updates, looking it up through google search.... but to no avail. I even posted it on UTC in the hopes that someone would be able to help but no one had an answer for me. It looks like we are the only ones who have ever had this problem?

Did you try running the games under compatibility mode for example Windows 98/ME? One of the games I play on Windows XP I have to run under the compatibility mode cause I get mouse problems. The mouse problems are worse if I use a cordless mouse.
You can also try some minor things. First try disabling the anti virus software while playing the game. Also check the hardware manager to see if there are any hardware conflicts. If you are using a USB2 mouse connection, try changing it to the mouse port on the computer. They do sell adapters for that. Check also with the game manufacturer to see if they have any updates. It's also true what someone said that the mouse pointer disappears when playing certain games. Guess the game manufacturer figures since you won't be needing the mouse to play, why I have the mouse pointer showing. |
