Using USB drive

Hi everybody,

I want to ask you if somebody have tried to use a digital photo camera like USB drive?

I am talking about Canon A400 - the problem is that I cannot upload any files to it!
I use onl windows XP driver. If I need some special software, tell me !

Thanks in advance!!!

weird, i use my Fuji camera for this sort of job all the time, comes in handy as the PC at work wont burn CDRW's

does the camera in question use a memory card or does it depend on internal memory? cause you could always use a memory card reader/writer to put stuff on the thing

It is with SD memory card,
but I don't have reader and the stupid thing is that the cammera is in my pocket all the time! That's why I dont want to use USB drive or something like this! I have 512MB in my pocket all the time and I can't use it for data storage!

What is the exact error message when you try to 'upload' something? What do you use to upload the files?

Gref, this is the problem!
NO ERROR message at all!
Just when I try to paste something it is not working
the paste option in the right click menu is not active!

I found in the net some similar problem with another model of canon and they sqid that thev can upload only jpg files - but I can not do even this!

I think that I will have to read the manual (

Now have some free time and I will try some different options!

Well now I know what is the problem - it is CANON -
now I installed all the stupid software from the CD that were in the box and I found one option there to upload pictures!
Using this software you can upload only files with .jpg extention!
May be under linux it will work without this software - I think that it is all about the driver !
It is realy stupid that they dont allow to upload with windows explorer!
Thank you all for the help!
