ECC or not?
On the specs for my mobo (ASUS A7N8X-X) it says about non-ECC but apparently I didn't check this when I order my memory (Kingston 256 DDR400 PC3200 Cl3 Memory Module).
I'm thinking of expanding somewhat. What do I need to check for this time? And what is the difference between ECC and otherwise? Thanks. |

ECC stands for Error Checking Correction. And if your mobo works with non-ECC it's OK
-- non-ECC RAM is usually cheaper. And your mobo might work with ECC RAM - I've never tried this. What I'm sure and have tested is that mobos that need ECC RAMs do not work with regular ones . Get another stick and go Cheers |
