Hi people I am going to try to get some information on Mac OSX shortly so I thought I would make a thread to house it in.

First of all, does anyone know where I can get the Mac theme for Windows XP to see if I like it?

Have you tried a shell replacement progam like LiteStep or Windows Blinds.. These can make your desktop looking exactly the same as Mac OSX check out screenshots etc and more info @

Wincustomize

you should be able to find the programs on ur favourite P2P.

Thanks this is great. I know now that Mac connot use p2p programs such as KaZaA and most seem to be Gnutella based and so I do not think aI would opt for one. I know however it is good for Graphics, Audio etc and the user interface I think looks real good!

Can anyone tell me how resource heavy windows blinds and other skinning programs are because I remember in the past this being a problem and I want to keep my comp going fast!

Downloading the GUI from the first screenshot that was posted. Pity you don't get the movie that is playing in it, she that real hot asian girl...oh and GUI looks cool too, lol, hope it does not use massive of CPU power and is totally functional with XP.

Tried it, dont know quite what I think yet, very "eye candy" but I can't seem to get start menu, like in the screenshot

ive also tried the OSX skins with window blinds and similar programs and i find that it really nice looking but you lose a lot of system resources because the whole thing is so graphics intensive..

The only gain in performance i used to get was in WIN98 when i used to have the shell replacement LITESTEP. It was way faster than the windows gui and you could do everything the same as windows with it.. it was also less a strain on my resources.

If you look at the normal windows XP gui, its pretty but some slower machines struggle with it, I just turn it back to classic look and it works fine for me..

Macs were made the way they are to look good and have funtionality to boot.. PC's got stuck with the funtionality first and only now are we seeing better looking gui's.

IMHO, dont bother with the shell replacements.. they add little funtionality and if anything will drive you up the wall with all their little settings...

btw, be carefull if your using a program like litestep because ive messed with it a few times and wiped my desktop completely. Always make a new screen name to mess with in first and then port it to your main screen name.
