Makin money with my computer?
I have been thinking of getting a second job because my hours have been cut back at my regular job, and I was wondering if anyone has made money with their computers, and/or what is the best way to do so. I figured I spend alot of time in front of my comp anyway, why not use it. So what is everyones opinion? Is it worth trying? Does anyone currently make a living with their computer?

there ae a number of ways of making money with your pc, most involve some extra equipment, here are a few examples:
converting home video's to dvd. some software needed, as well as an mpg capture card, dvd burner and video player - good quality printer a must, CD/DVD printer essential. Portrait photography. i have a friend who used to do this, he had a high quality A3 printer and a half decient digital camera - some salesmanship is involved as you need to network new customers from existing ones, a good eye for a photo is also essential, as is a proffessional LOOKING camera (doesnt matter if it is expensive as long as it looks expensive) hardware/software rquirements: A3 & A4 photo quality printer, Digital camera with tripod and extra memory cards, cdr burner essential for backup of photo's and photo cd's

Good ideas there Ripper. I already have a mpg capture card and some video editing software. I have always had trouble with video, but if I put the time into it, I bet I could get the hang of it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Any more out there? |

If you are good with comp. design you might work as a graphic, web designer. There are some good outsourcing sites out there. The real trouble is that the payment in the beginning isn't much (due to the bid principles of the sites and the fact that there are many 3rd world countries - like Bulgaria, that work for cheap and still provide the job), but if you are good and give yourself enough time you will succeed.

My wife and i have been toying with the idea of opening an internet business selling images and designing websites and other stuff. We just don't really know all of the details of starting an internet business.

I have been helping out a friend doing Computer Drafting.....
it took me a few hours to learn the basics.... I make $800 for 3 days work the 1st week.... now I do about 3-4 hours a month for about $75 a day... now when she gets backed up again...the money will be good again.
