Mandrake on Mac??

What is the best LInux operating system for a Mac ? Any idea's? Its a Power Mac G3... have Mac 8.5 on it now and would like to off the mac software.

I guess a better question would be does Linux work on Mac's?

my question is: WHY? why would u want to get off of mac os? why don't you just update it to os 9 or X, the new macintosh os's are based on unix and it never freezes. linux is based on unix also so wuts the point of changing

i quick visit to linux.org got me this results...linux.org looks like you can get mandrake running in a mac? maybe?...i heard about a distro called yellowdog..i'll try t look for a link for ya

your absolutely potty! why would you even dream of installing any linux distro on your mac... UPDATE TO OSX ... its better than XP and any linux distro...

Yes you can install Linux on a Mac. I saw some dude running Debian on his box, but I still don't understand why... My OS X isn't a pain in the ass, while he's looking for compatible software all the time...

Well to each their own. Some people just like to experiment with different things.. I nkow thats what I always do. Part of the fun is breaking things and then attempting to figure out how to fix it.

If he wants to isntall linux I am sure he is doing somewhat of the same thing.. testing the water a bit.. to see what he can do

Everyone has a good reason.. some people just like to fiddle.. and I know I am that way
