SCO says it's time for Linux users to pay up
SCO is giving the "tainted" Linux users out there a way to clean up their filthy ways via a licensing program that will begin in the coming weeks.
P.S. This is taken from theRegister- didn't want to publish it on the first page since it wrecks Linux reputation. We'll keep it here for our members: Source: TheRegister |

I personally question the resource. I have never heard of it and don't know if its information is true. I do know that SCO broke the GPL repeaditely, by A. Not issueing a GPL with their linux distro. and B. not siteing the GPL which most of their code is based on. Read more at the Inquirer

In a recent article on CNET news SCO have taken their next step in their lawsuit against IBM. IBM 'donated' unix code to the Linux community that has now turned out to be copyrighted by SCO after they bought the rights from Novell. There are also major amounts of code turning up in the Linux Kernel that can be apparently proved to be copied from the Unix systems that SCO owns the rights to.
Hence SCO are sueing IBM for a cool $3billion. SCO are not out to destroy the Linux community but if this lawsuit goes ahead it's going to cause problems. According to the CEO of SCO (If I remember correctly) some of the major technology behind Linux's SMP capabilities relate to these copyright problems. So if you had to take away Linux's fundamental use in high end servers, there's going to be a problem. Oh dear... Look on the news page for the CNET 'video and audio' SCO's lawsuit against IBM hits next stage (Can't give proper linkage, it's some javascript link thing).
