Cgywin

hey, I run WinXP, and I just downloaded Cgywin, a linux emulator... and wow... It makes my computer run exactly like linux... for those who want the best of both worlds, i would really suggest this. It is about 1.0GB with all the options installed. Plus its freeware...

www.cgywin.com

check it out.

Linux also has some commands that are not in windows. It comes with a TON of free software etc... plus no dual boot hassle.... I've run dual boot before, it sux hard-core... the only hassle free way to dual boot is to have 2 separate HDs and a custom 80 pin IDE switcher mounted on the front of your computer...

bugs
you can use knoppix to try out linux , it runs off a disk www.linuxiso.org ,and i think suse has a version that runs off a disk too. " I've run dual boot before, it sux hard-core... the only hassle free way to dual boot is to have 2 separate HDs and a custom 80 pin IDE switcher mounted on the front of your computer..." you can use a floppy boot disk for linux , then you don't need the switcher and you don't have to worry about windows 's nasty habit of messing up your mbr

Yes, it includes the GNU C compiler suite.

Mozilla can be compiled using GNU these days on windows as well.
