intel celeron 2.2 ghz cpu temps
yo , my intel celeron 2.2ghz tells me using speedfan that its at 41 celsius. Now when i take off the cover of me pc, the heatsink is not hot AT ALL, could it be thats its not makin ocntact with the cpu or is this normal, im worried as i think the cpu may be overheating, im using the heatsink and fan supplied from intel. Please somebody calm my nerves over this temp business!

41 is not a bad temp, and actually it is pretty good. I would not worry until you start getting temps of around 60 C.
Besides, if your celeron starts getting too hot then it will slow down (inbuilt thermal protection) to prevent further overheating. That is the ONLY advantage over amd, in my opinion.

My Intel 2.8GHz currently runs idle at 48C and my heatsink too, feels cold to the touch. However on full load the temperature reaches 66C and the heatsink is hot to the touch. I have reseated the heatsink and have applied the correct amount of thermal paste, so I assume overall this is not a problem (And is 'normal').
The stock Intel cooler is a poor heatsink in itself and I intend to replace mine with a watercooling setup soon. However your temperature of 41C is certainly not overheating. Don't forget that if your chip ever reaches say 70 (Verging on dangerous) the CPU will use the BIOS software to throttle itself down to 33% of its speed in order to stop a burnout. Therefore it is very hard to kill an Intel chip through heat (Even though high temperatures are certain to shorten the lifespan of your chip). Don't worry mate, it's certainly not overheating and it's not going to die. The cool to the touch thing im not so sure about but it is the same on mine so im not alone then hehe.

Yeah, 41C is pretty cool... I have a Northwood 1.8 P4 and that idles at 43C, and under load reaches the dizzy heights of 55C - and that's with the stock heatsink/fan Intel supplies! Of course, I did remove that awful gunk and use some proper thermal compound...
It's not unusual for the heatsink to be cool-ish at that temperature though, as the CPU is barely breaking a sweat.

LOL..you guys with heat "issues" (who, like me, do not want to spend the big $$ on water cooling) should invest in the Thermalright SLK-800u and a nice big QUIET 80mm fan to go on it.. and a little ArcticSilver ceramique or III.
Best HSF on the market, keeps things running cool, even at insane loads. the "U" version works both for AMD and Intel.

Hehe good recommendation LDPad. The SLK is a fantastic heatsink.
However im spening my bucks on Watercooling for even lower temps, an overall quieter system, and something to do hehe as im rather bored.
