In Linksys, I apparently already have a static IP. My connection goes off if I attempt to put in the same IP in Bellsouth (or any IP for that matter). The DHCP config is the same. I hope this pic helps enough.
192.168.1.1 is what I use to access my modem - it's the common IP for routers. 192.168.1.254 is used to access Bellsouth's DSL modem (Westell). So, I must make up a different static IP address, I'm guessing. That seems like the only way to get Badblue sharing. I don't know a static IP that will *work* and that others will be able to access through Badblue. |

Ok Blury I see it now. Your actually have two private networks in your screen. Looks like the DSL modem serves an IP to your Linksys which then in turn serves your computer an IP address.
"This" screen is fine. What you need to do now is put your "PC" on a static IP address. If you use: IP Address: 192.168.1.2 Default GAteway: 192.168.1.1 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 DNS Servers: --- You will need to find your DNS servers. To do this go to your dos prompt. Type in the following command "ipconfig /All /batch ipinfo" This will place all your current information into a text file called ipinfo. Then just type EDIT IPINFO from the prompt and you will see your DNS servers listed in there. Get your DNS information before setting your static IP on your PC. Because if you dont have DNS servers specified in your properties you will not be able to browse via hostnames.. and thats messy. ![]() Let me know if you need any help on that bud.. |

Thanks for replying so much Cirga. At least you are helping ![]() I've tried as many combinations of numbers I can think of... Hmmm...nothing showed up in the edit ipinfo screen, but I did manage to find this (typed 'ipconfig /All'): Code:
That's pretty much what I told you already, I know... Now my Bellsouth DSL is showing this (but they are all random): Code:

Ok, I need to set up a virtual network connection on my current ethernet (so I can use 2 different sub net masks) How would I go about doing this... Our network is all interlinked, but sub netted. It is all DHCP served too... and I need to access another sub net... another ethernet card is not an option...
