IPOD for Windows?

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum, but I'm looking for feedback from anyone who owns or has used the new IPOD for Windows. From what I understand it only requires a card to accept the Firewire from the IPOD. Does it work? Is it worth the $399?
