You should be able to use the tnt2 without the fan without problems.
The only real problem from heat buildup will occur if you do not have very good case ventalation. Make sure you leave some open pci slots between your tnt card and other add-ons you might have (sound card, lan card, etc) so that you get good air flow around the tnt card. Also You can purchase a fan that will fit into a pci slot below your tnt card (if you have any slots avail). This is usually an exaust fan, but if you do a little meddling (reverse the wires) you can make the fan into an intake fan which will then blow cool air from the back of your computer over your pci/agp cards. The tnt2 card is not that high end --it does not generate really high amounts of heat like the upper end cards. Basically if you try it without a fan and you keep getting lockups in games, etc then you will need better ventalation/add a fan. I moved this thread because it does not belong in the UTC/help forum (which is for site help) Post all your computer related questions in the computer forum.
