video output from graphics card....

hi

I use an S3 Savage4 32 mb graphic card with tv out.

I use tv out a lot but i dont think my card has the option of outputing one image (video) while using the computer for other things, it only seems to be able to mirror what is on the monitor, has anyone ever heard of anything for my card that will allow me to display something on tv while doing other things on monitor?

the actual memory size of my card is the other question, cos it only shows as 16mb, i bought it 'bare' at computer fair so it may well be, have tried several drivers but still shows as 16mb, so my question is, has anyone ever heard of a graphics card showing smaller memory than it has? and if so why?

thanks

Hey bilbo, chances are if it is being reported as 16MB of on-board memory and thats what it is. You could check the S/N on the card and then compare that with info from the manufactors website. Items sold at computer fairs are not always what they are advertised.

Also, you might d/l SiSoft Sandra, it will tell you just about anything you want to know about your computer and some things you don't want to know.....*L*
