reset woes

I have a compaq that at power up will just give a 162 system options not set error then reboots and keeps doing the same over and over and over we have changed the system battery 3x we have falshed the bios 2x this just keeps going on- sometimes we get windows up but not that often - if i do get into bios the system ignores the changes made and we go back to the 162 error

Well, this sounds like something that Compaq has setup and no one will really be able to help you unless they have a similar Compaq system.

Having said that, google is a great tool.

It seems like something in the config utility is set wrong. Im not sure what it could be... hopefully you can get into the config utility and snoop around.

we have checked every setting
but evean when I change them it does not hold the settings
