Comp Keeps Rebooting!!!
my damm comp keeps rebooting everytime i get online and do the stuff i usually do...post on a forum. it's never done this before. just started doing this 2 days ago so i want to know what can be the problem.
comp specs: Soyo K7VTA-B Motherbaord 900MHZ Duron(was overclocked to 1.10GHZ and never had problems untill now so i put it back at 900 and still getting rebooted) 512MB SDRAM PC133 64MB Nvidia Geforce 2 MX/400 Windows XP Pro with SP1 The only apps i have open are AIM,MSN,cpuidle,Speenfan and addelete. |

well i fixed it myself....it was cpuidle...i guess it was cause i had it setup to start with windows but i took that off and i opened it after i get online and have no more problems...now back to overclocking it

In winXP it is a good Idea to disable the auto-reboot after an error. Go into your system control panel, and one of the options allows you to change the error handling and recovery settings. Just uncheck the "reboot after error" box.

You may want to check for trojans if the problem persists. Many trojans such as subseven give complete control of your computer to anyone with the client program. Even with a firewall installed it may be possible for these progs to effect you - all it takes is one open and exploitable port.
