Broken JPG's
I am not sure if this is the correct place but I am not quite sure what else to do. I have some pictures on my son in a folder on my hard drive. When I look in the folder the thumbnails appear fine for about 50% of them. The other 50% display no thumbnail. The ones that the thumbnail appears fine the image appears like it was cut and pieces were moved around. The ones with no thumbnail when you try and open them it just says no preview available. But there is data in the file. Any ideas?

I get this alot myself I have never really found a fix its just the file bugging itself out you can try opening it with some other programs like maybe ie or photoshop if you have it an see if it opens if not Id say you are out of luck seeing as I have yet to find a fix for it but I could be wrong.

This might or might not work...
There are a few times I get a pic with a thumbnail completely different than the pic when it's opened..usually just deleting the thumb.db will fix that, thats a cashe problem...but thats not what I'm getting to...anyway..if you open the file in your photo editing program..change something..I usually run the crop tool across it..than click undo, now save the file. Now when you open it up..it should be ok. As for the 'No Preview' problem..seen that before also..it's usually from a huge pic..just close it down & open a pic next to it..use the arrows in Windows Fax & Pic Viewer to get to the next pic....it will load, should load..easier because the program is already running...also make sure your not running something in the background that is using alot of CPU.
