Question window kit ?

OK I started to stick a window kit into a tower yesterday ... After much measuring and cutting I had the correct shaped hole !
I'm at the aprt where I put the rubber molding around the edge. This is much harder than it looks ... Not harder, I'm saying impossible... The molding is so twisted it won't stay in the groove.

Anyone else ever done one of these window thingy's ?

Hey John,
One of the things you could do is set the rubbur as straight as you can in front of a heat register and let it warm it up, this might help straighten it out. If that doesn't work another thing you can try is go to your auto parts store and pick up some of that 3m weatherstrip adhesive, use it fairly sparingly. That should hold it in place till ya get the window in place.

Ok, I just did one of these kits about a month ago. Yes, it is really hard to get working correctly, and you will need 2-3 people. Get a couple of very small flat-head screw drivers to help pull the rubber up over the window.

The hardest part is to get the last little piece of rubber into the groove to keep everything in place. I finally got it in with some help and alot of previous trials, but I also have to put a few strips of electrical tape over it cuz it was still trying to pop out.

I know thats probably not much help, but keep at it... its not impossible,

Ok, I hope you used the spacer when making the template before cutting the case. The hole needs to be a bit bigger than the window to accomidate the rubber gasket. If you didn't do that, it won't work very well.
