Ultimate game gear

For most, the typical videogame experience involves little more than a gaming system, a television, and a sofa. But, for people who don't mind spending a little extra cash, there are plenty of ways to enhance the time they spend playing videogames.

Lack of exercise can be a concern for people who tend to play video games for extended periods of time. Two companies have developed health-wise peripherals that allow players to get a workout a the same time.

Cat Eye, a leading Japanese manufacturer of bicycle computers, has developed a racing videogame controller called Game Bike. Used in conjunction with a standard bicycle and a rear wheel drive stationary bicycle trainer, the Game Bike controller works with any Sony PlayStation2 racing game. Pedalling equates to pressing the accelerator button. A certain speed must be maintained in order for maximum velocity to be sustained; players steer with their bike's handlebars.
