Lion7718 will become famous soon enough
Try this:
Right click on My Computer, choose Properties. Click the Advanced tab, under Startup & Recovery click Settings. Under System Failure uncheck Automatically Restart.

But, if it is a major thing, it can hurt your System in the long run.
It is shutting down for a reason.

RipperRoo is on a distinguished road
i dont think this is a restart issue lion,

scottishdude, what are the spec's of your system, and have you installed service pack one on the machine? cause xp had a hell of a lot of problems with games before the 1st service pack.

other things that could cause this:

graphics card drivers - i would suggest updating to the latest version, dont forget to uninstall the old ones first

compatability: Xp doesnt like some of the older games.

badly coded cracks/hacks: if your using a no cd crack or other such workaround on your games xp can be i a little picky.
