DVD & CD Burner Compatibility

My OS is Window XP PRO and I have an Memorex internal CD burner I have ordered a Pioneer internal DVD burner. Can anyone tell (after the fact) will these be compatible? If so, how do I connect them?

the CD/drives while connecting via the same type of cable dont have to be compatable to work together, if you connect one as the master drive and one as the slave drive on the same IDE cable you shouldnt have a problem.

if you dont have enough IDE cables to connect both its nothing to worry about, as DVD burners also burn CD's as well, although you wont get 52x cd burn speeds out of a DVD drive, the average is 24x
