Madcat's Chernobyl

Ladies and gentlemen....Madcat has built himself his "Chernobyl"!!
I named it that since this baby reminds me of good 'ol nuke power

I dont have a camera right now but heres the specs

-Koolance PC2-C water cooling
-AMD Athlon 2400+
-Corsair XMS 512MB 400mhz
-Soyo Kt400 Dragon Ultra Black
-Antec 430 watt
-ATI Radeon 9000

These parts may seem a bit weak but I spent a year saving cash and trial and error crap. My first cpu, psu, and mofo were all dead. You can imangine my rage.

Now I can play Half-Life, Deus Ex, Postal 2, UT2K3, and get wasted on Xmas for the hell of it.

Deus Ex is amazing.. the only problem is it doenst run good on Nvidia cards.. I think its because the game uses Direct 3d primarly and not OpenGL.. which of course Radeons are better at. I had to turn all the graphics down.. and had lots of glitches at one point.. so I uninstalled it.. someday when I buy a radeon (which will be soon hopefully) I can try it out again.

You know whats strange. A friedn of mind told me that nvidia cards are awesome for linux, but I couldnt afford any at the moment.. I found my radeon 9000 out of luck and "last in store" moments. The funny thing is that my first radeon was the 32mb sdr...and it did opengl much better than direct3d...well until i screwed with the mhz settings on it. Oh does DX 2 use unreal warefare or unreal-based engine? I think its still using an unreal engine. Unreal engines prefer D3D over GL, so its the game engine and nvidia cards that lag it.
