Well....I finallly have it up and running!!

OK, this is what I have just had built....Asus A7N8x Deluxe Motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 2600 CPU, 2-512 mb sticks of Micron PC 2700 DDRAM(Running in dual channel mode for a total of 1 gigabyte RAM), Soundblaster Audigy 2 soundcard (internal), Chaintech Ge Force FX 5600 Ultra (256 mb), Sony DRU-500 AX [DVD Burner- burns dvd formats: -r/+r (at 4x) and -rw (at 2x) and +rw (at 2.4x) and cd-r (at 24x) and cd-rw (at 10x)], Plextor plexwriter cd burner 40/12/40a (40x-cd-r,12x-cd-rw, read cd at 40x), zip 100 drive (uses 100mb disks), generic 3.5 drive. I have a 500 watt power supply and an atx case. I also have a bearpaw (scanner), HP deskjet 940c (inkjet printer), and a motorola SB 5100 cable modem. I have a KDS X-Flat 17 inch CRT monitor. I use win xp pro operating system and have insight cable as my ISP. Well...... that is my rig! I am glad I had this built because I am wanting something to last me awhile. There will always be newer "toys" out there, but for now this will do. What do you guys think?? (By the way, I am going to be getting an AMD athlon 3200 processor and drop it inside when the prices go down after the AMD 64 bit chip introduction.) Well thats what I have...any suggestions or opinions??

That's a really nice system. I think yer gonna love the DVD burner. I know I look at burning CDs the same way I used to look at puttin stuff on floppies.

I also like the fact that you gave yourself some room to grow. It's really is gonna be a great system for ya, and upgradability will mean you can really hang onto it that much longer.

I would like to see some pics too.

Nice job!

Well actually, I was thinking of selling the old motherboard(soyo syk7vta pro), ram (512 stick kingston sdram), processor (AMD xp 2000) and an older video card I have got !(XFX GF4 mx440) I would not really know what a fair price for all that would be though..... I would like to sell it all at one time so I don't have to deal with sending parts to different addresses! Mabye I can put it on ebay.
