I'm from a small town located between Toronto and Kingston, about 20 min north of Lake Ontario.
The lake you see pictured is called Rice Lake and it's a minutes walk from my house (it looks very serene but when the skidoo's are done the boats come in droves... very touristy here

)... When it settles down (which seems like never anymore

lol ) it is very nice here

my old folks are crazy about their garden and flowers.. but ill have to take a pic and post it tomorrow since im off to work now.. we have such a small garden but its basically been turned into a wildlife reserve..heheh.. apparently within the next two months im supposed to create a waterfeature for them.. slave labour! ack!

maybe ill just stand in the corner and take a pee! hows that for a waterfeature?

OMG! how did u get that picture of me trillium! hehehe! thats a funny pic. i dont understand how people can have them in their gardens though... and ive seen a few like that too!

What if peepee boys hole gets blocked!

oh and while im at it... heres the lil piece of land i have to work with to create a waterfeature.. this pic is old though and there is a room (my room) being built at the back of the garden which has made the garden smaller than it already is!

I think your backyard would look great with all the grass gone, pea gravel pathways winding to the back with a water feature near one of the back corners, and then fill in all the spaces with lush looking plants and vines on trellises. Also, I would put in a couple of small trees for shade and two seating areas: one for eating near the house and one for lounging nearer the water feature. But that is just my amaturish idea because I don't like to mow lawns and lots of plants means no weeds (or at least you can't see them) haha I am aiming for that look in my yard, but I don't have enough $$ to do my quarter acre all at once. (maybe if i just don't mow the lawn for the rest of the summer.....)lol
