Exclamation Resizing Images?

Simply, what is the best way to resize an image to make it thumbnail size, without losing picture quality?

greffov will become famous soon enough
Losing quality is impossible, but I think that if you use Photoshop to change the image size using it's default settings you pretty well get a nice image which is smooth.

Yeah, just as long as I don't get the really rough look I tend to get. I'll have a go using photoshop and tell you how I fair.

'Thumbs Plus' is a wicked little image editor (it's on par with adobe for resizing...), it has some cool filters to make it seem like you didn't lose any quality at all . I use it for fast editing

Oddlyi enough.. just for resizing I have used Irfanview (www.irfanview.com). Its fast and simple.. and the quality dosnt really get as bad as other programs I have used before.

But yes.. if you have the time Photoshop does rule for image maniupulation.

I use Paint Shop Pro for resizing, because it opens up quick, but I use Photoshop for everything else..lol.

Check my website (Billy-Bob's), the pics on there, although not terribly small, were way up in the thousands of pixels originaly, about 2 megs a piece. They resized well.
