For a long while I had been searching for a program that would convert my sketches into ‘solid’ line art (if adobe illustrator & Photoshop could do it, I certainly couldn’t find the commands to execute it)
I don’t have any experience with vector art (before I new the difference, I had already spent considerable time with raster images …Doh!) So long story short I stumbled onto ‘Adobe Streamline’. This program was the answer to my prayers! It cleans up ink drawings in a snap! Over the next few posts I’ll show you the wicked mind bending power of this amazing ‘lil program. This is an original sketch I did at work, then I scanned it. (the ‘dawg wit attitude’ subject isn’t so original but ...oh well)

Waa-Laa! Streamline finds the center of the line and completely smoothes the whole drawing. It eliminates the fuzzy bleed lines of the marker (not to mention some of my shaky lines), and converts it to solid black. Whooo Hooo!!!
NOTE: Streamline (as far as I can tell), will only convert into 4 different file formats, 2 of which are Illustrator ({*.eps} & {*.ai}). The other 2 I haven’t got a clue (Metafile {*.emf} & DXF {*.dxf}). ….Photoshop 7 can work with the {*.eps} file type. ... one more thing Streamline seems to only want to read adobe image files {*.psd}

Yea, I'm purrrrrty content wif boing-boing. At least fer now. I was thinkin that with the new theme an all, we jus might be needin some sorta mascot. A kewlPCaTT or teckPCaTT or sumsuch. There has been talk of sum kinda contest fer the artistically inclined and you certainly qualify. Mebbe NUT'll see this an make some comment or suggestion. He's turned into some kinda recluse lately. I just hope he's keepin his nails and beard trimmed.......................
