Avatars for Noobs

Ok, someone said they have been using the same avatar as I for a long time and I kindly bowed out and agreed to change mine.

I want something cool, animated and has a cow in it as a tribute to UTC. I found several animated gifs and like a few of them. The problem is that they are all either too big in dimension or are beyond 29000 bytes in filesize.

Being that I'm somewhat of an idiot when it comes to graphic design, I looked for some kind of animated gif editor at download.com.

The only thing that looked decent was ulead. It doesn't seem too unbelivably complicated.

There's two gifs I like. One should be my static inanimate dark cow looking thing. This is actually a highly animated evil cow looking thing and is about 100K. The dimensions are hosed too, so when I resize it, I have to do it off aspect and it is slightly distorted. I can live with that. There are about 20 frames in it, so I'm sure I can delete a few frames. However, in deleting frames, I then find my image vanishing when those frames were supposed to come up.

The second isn't quite as cool looking, but is already 130x130. The size is about 50K so it needs to be srunk a little. There are only about 8 frames, so I hate to take frames out.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you were lookin for avatars or helf with .gifs, but as it happens I have a few cow avatars.

If you would like some help with the graphics, please post a more specific question and I will try to help.
