Password Problems

My Mother - In - Law has XP Pro installed on her Gateway box (it came with Me, I installed XP for her, upgrade install)

It has been prompting her to change her password periodically and I thought I had found the setting to change the password requirement but I guess I was wrong. She is now locked out of her computer. She was prompted for a week and couldn't remember her password to allow her to change to a new one as prompted.

I had her go into control panel>Administrative Tools>Security Settings, then I had her go through the list of password settings and they were all set. (as far as I can tell) We then (via telephone) went into User Accounts and checked that the password function was not enabled there.(it wasn't, but last time this happened this was where I had her change her settings, it was enabled at that time)

Any ideas? Have I missed a setting? Is there any way to get back into her computer without the password?

I intend to reformat and do a clean install for her, but if I could get her back into her computer I wouldn't have to do that immediately.

There are several password recovery/reset utilities for XP and NT.

I have a couple of them, but they are imbedded into large programs.

There is one on a special rescue disc that is 100 mb.

How do you want me to get it to you??

ok, I found a small program that should be just what you need.

I'll figure out a way to get it to you.
