Scanning software

Hey gang, I wanted to find out if anyone has any experience with scanning software and what they prefer. I had to scan a document the other day and it turned out like crap, if I scanned it as a document it ruined my signature and put it all over the page, if I scanned it as an image, it turned the page off-white and scanned it crooked. The scanner I have is a HP PSC 2110 all-in-one. The OCR software that came with it is that Readiris, which I think totally blows. Just want to see if anyone has any opinions on this matter.

I saw this thread last week but at that time I did not have a scanner, so I was not able to offer any feedback.

HOWEVER...Staples had a Special today and I got a Memorex scanner for $29 (after a $50 rebate).

It has some software for reading documents directly into Word so I will have to try it out and get back to you.

(600x1200) I could not pass up the deal. Well, if nothing else it looks impressive on my 'puter table.
