More photoshop ???'s
I have photoshop 6 & 7 ... I want to edit a photo... Take a part of a photo (computer case) and put it on either a transparent or white back ground... I've tried all kinds of stuff but get shitty edges.. Maybe my digital camera resoultion isn't good enough? (800x600) .. I could scan pictures if you think that might help ??

Hey J
I'd recommend experimenting with channels or feathering the selection to get rid of the jaggies. I'm not too sure about how this is done in PS7 as i haven't seen it yet Usually you can do a search for a tutorial on how to extract part of an image. If all else fails, send the images along to me with what it is you want done and I'll make it pretty for 'ya

Hey John, use the extract tool under Select>Extract, it's the easiest way. If you're really precise, you can get nice crisp edges with it, but if not, just do like DC did and feather the edges like 2 px or something.
