I have always said - when it comes to a case 'the bigger the better' more room inside = better airflow & better cooling, plus its easyer to work on.
my personal fav is the soho patern file server case, several manufacturers make them (chieftec/antec/thermaltake) if your after highly modded go with thermaltake, if you want a range of case colours Chieftec is your man, and if you want plain but with a real good psu, Antec |

Heres a good case site and i whole heartedly agree with Rip here on the bigger the better - my server is a soho pattern case by antec - best case ive ever worked with and their psu equally excellent

Yup there is some kind of dependency between all parts. But the things that need to have 100% connectivity are the MB and the CPU.
Other dependencies: HDD: Serial ATA drive will work with a specific MB only if the MB has Serial ATA connectors. That is of course if you don't buy a separate SATA controller. Videocards: still AGP sloted are popular (that is where I live) and PCIex is the future standard - it is already available, but not enough popular. The Radeon you chose is available in AGP type only so there will be no problems I think. What I would recommend is changing (just my 2c) the mobo and CPU. A AMD Athlon XP Barton with a good mobo will be better. But again it will depend on what you'll do with the PC - games, office apps, graphics artist, ...... |

Looks good. For a motherboard you can choose either this ASUS or Abit KV8Pro (VIA K8T800 chipset) or EPoX 8KDA3+ (nForce 3 250 chipset). All OK and depends on what you like (in this case only). From the many tests I've read, the ABIT KV8Pro is a little bit better from the other two, but all tests mention that the advantages will be felt by enthusiasts a.k.a. overclockers. So for a calm non-o/c work choose any of the three buy and voila.
Cheers |

check video cable. check monitor power. check that the card is in the slot all the way, make sure that if the card has a power connector, that it is plugged in. check that the AGP slot type is the same as the card, ie. 8x car = 8x slot. the ATI radeon 9550 is AGP 8x, and so is your motherboard. make sure the pins on the video connector are ok.
