Drive replacement questions

I am currently using a WD IDE 80g 7200 rpm drive and recently purchased a Seagate SATA 160g 7200 rpm drive. I am using Powerquest drive image 7.0 to image the drive. The drive seems to image fine it accessable in wondows and everything. But when I unplug the WD drive the Seagate hangs up on the windows xp screen right before the choose your user thing comes up. I am wanting to replace the WD with the Seagate and wipe the WD to use in another pc. Any suggestions on what I may have missed? System Specs are a Athalon 2800+, Gigabyte GA-7n400 Pro 2, 2x Corsair DDR 2700 XMS 512 Memory. Thanks in advance.

greffov will become famous soon enough
It's hard to fool windows by placing it just on another drive. You probably fix your problem by just installing windows over the installation you have on your new drive now, it probably corrects all references to devices, etc.
This way you won't loose any settings or programs installed, but you do loose all security updates etc. I don't know how XP is when reinstalling, but you might also have to ask Microsoft for permission to use your new harddisk, since M$ wants to control you so badly (Activation $hit)
