cd drive not working

i have just had a second cd drive instlled in my comp. at first the tray would not even open but now it does but my comp doesnt seem to recognize them and i have no cd drives when i go to 'my computer' i just want to know if i can fix it without takin the side of my comp and fiddling around in there

check if u have connected all the cablescorrectly to ur motherboard n ur power supply.

If all are okay n u still can't see ur cd-rom under my computer. Check to see if u have ur cd-rom drive listed under ur device manager. If no, then my guess is ur cd-rom is faulty.

This may also be a jumper setting problem. If both CD drives are connected to the same Ribbon (Cable) then make sure you have one set as Master and the second drive set as Slave.

Have you alread done that?
