Question My PC can't see my CDs

I played Cds on my CDRW drive, and the following morning the system was asking me to insert a CD when there was one already in. I changed the CD to be sure and still no improvement. I tried rolling back because I had updated the drivers two days earlier but I had the message that there was no back-up so that was impossible. I tried restoring to an earlier date but the PC could not complete it. Please help me because I do not want to format the hard drive. My OS is XP. Could this be a problem with drivers????? I ran a system check and it says everything is alright. I do not know what is really happening.....

Lion7718 will become famous soon enough
Try setting your system to Auto-play to see if another program tries to read your CDs.

rightclick on My Computer, select manage from the context menu.
In the management console find the Devices node in the tree on the left.
See if you can find your CDROM drives there. Try to disconnect/reconnect them, or if that doesn't help try to remove them, so windows will add them on next boot.
