Windows 2000 Server Problems

Have windows 2000 server installed, able to connect to micrsoft update site, scan for updates, but when you try to download the updates it finds, its unable to connect, anyone have any ideas?
Would ordering a CD of IE 6 solve the problem?
cipher strength is 128 bit....

Thanx alot!!

Not firewall related

Not firewall related, is on a network of 110 computers, 2 of the windows 2000 servers are unable to download updates from Micrsoft but the rest can.....

have you tryed using a different internal ip address for either of the 2 machines that cant retrive the update, it sounds like they are port blocked by your gateway to me, and doing this would be the easyest way to be sure.
i would try taking a machine that can connect and reasining its internal ip to a machine that cant.

that will tell you if the problem is with the machine or is gateway/network related.

Can you download the updates to install them by hand? I mean, if you use Windows Update, most updates have a "More information...." link, which usually points to a page where you can download the update and save it as a file to install later (or in multiple computers.)

Alternatively you can download the updates from here. I always do that in networks, because 1 download - many installs! Use WindowsUpdate to get the list of updates that it needs, and download them from the link above.
