floppy drive won't stop
My A: drive (floppy drive) is constantly running.I have run norton and avg with no viruses being reported at all. However, my I can't get my a: drive to stop running. Here are some specs if that helps at all.
winxp, thunderbird 1 gig on k7a board, standard floppy plug and play floppy drive( don't remember the brand). I have tried disabling it through device manager and it still runs.Device manager shows it as running properly. |

if the light is always on, means the cable has been put on backwards, try turning it round so the red stripe down the side of the ribbon is on the oposite side to where it is atm.

Format a disk with MS-DOS files to boot from it. Boot from the floppy. If it works, then your floppy is ok, and if the light is off, then the problem is software.
BTW, it's not a good idea to have two antivirus running at the same time. First it's a resource hog, and second, one interferes the other (if you scan for viruses with one antivirus, the other will block the infected files, so they can not be repaired, and problems like this). |
