picked up new hard drive

computer has now....

HP 6623
Authentic AMD
120.OMB RAM(WAS 56)
32 bit File System
10 GB Quantum Fireball Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows 98se

Going to put in Western Digital Hard Drive 60GB 7200rpm
and taking out the quantum since it doesn't seem to be working right.

Directions tell me to have Computer System manual(it didn't come with one)and Operationg system manual and installation diskette/cd.

Don't know which I should put in, have copy from friend of 98se and one of xp(which I have never used):?

We will be using this computer at home for mainly personal use. Down loading Music and son like games.

any idea as to what I should do with not having these books?
Want to do this tonight when hubby gets home, he'll take old out and put new in. Then I get to take over.

Also in this HP the HD is vertical, flat against the front, can this new one go in it's place?

Don't want to ask too many questions right away.
