How much gb to install xp home ?
I'm going to do a complete clean install on my pc,format my drives and start all over again, messed things up in a serious way.
I have a 40 gb hard drive, and want to make 3 partitions,1 for xp and 2 for other programs. So my question is:How much space would i need to instal xp home edition, incl updates,i was thinking something like 4-5 gb,but i want to keep as much room as possible for the other 2 sections. So how much do i realy need ?? :? |

System REQUIREMENTS:
Windows XP Home Edition PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features) 1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space. Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor CD-ROM or DVD drive Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device __________________________________________________ I would suggest leaving yourself 2.5 gB for your windows partition -- this should leave you ample room for adding a few extras, should the need arise. there have been a few posts in the last couple of days that address this very issue--- do a search for the last 5 days for posts with the word drive in the subject line. ..also , Cirga and Rastagard have some good suggestions on this. memory and the windows page file , a warning rasta's tool kit Drive Install (here i go, ready or not)
